The Kailash Jacket has a light and lofty midweight insulation (PrimaLoft Gold 80 gsm) that’s just right for throwing on for a belay or getting up before the sun to make everyone in camp some coffee. It traps heat and holds onto it, even when wet – a big time benefit that down can’t offer. The weather shunning slippery shell will deflect light precipitation and wind while slipping easily under a shell if the weather gets really serious. The fit is streamlined, with quilting at sides and shoulders – zones that see more abuse from packstraps and waistbelts.
