This shirt takes its name from the Tamang: the largest Tibeto-Burman ethnic group in Nepal. Made in cooperation with local communities, this shirt is inspired by the traditional textiles of the Tamang, whose languages are the fifth most spoken in Nepal. Drawing upon this Nepali heritage the Tamang shirt is designed with the mountains in mind. Made from a rugged yet incredibly soft polyester cotton twill, it has carefully placed seams to avoid chaffing. The shirt is UPF rated to 50, so it protects from the sun’s harmful rays, which can be intensified in the mountains and high-altitude conditions.
